The house of Nina Ricci was founded in 1932 by the lady herself. She was born in Italy in 1883 and moved with her family to France when she was twelve years old. At the age of 13 she started as an apprentice at a dressmaker's and then moved on to be a designer for Raffin. When she was 49 she went into business on her own with her son Robert. He style was famous for being elegant, feminine and romantic. A style that the brand keeps delievering today as is evident from these pictures.
My grandmother always wore the perfume L'Air du Temps from Nina Ricci and I suppose that is one reason why I'm partial to the Ricci brand.
