The supreme style of the English gentleman provided by Hackett is so desirable for me. I am in love with style and run around in waistcoats, cardigans and jackets at the moment. One or two days inbetween I go gothic black just as a contrast. I like contrasts and I like keeping the people around me on their toes. What would life be like if you weren't allowed to play from time to time? And fun can be had, even in serious clothes.
A blog I recently discovered is Geri Hirsch's blog, Because I'm addicted. She describes herself as a twenty something running wild in LA. And who doesn't like to run wild in LA?! Good texts and stunning pictures. Here is an example of a stylist's flat that Geri Hirsch shows on her blog. I think I could kill for that flat.
The collection for fall 2012 at Nina Ricci is stunning and spectacular. It is tailored and ladylike. It manages to mix all this with modern details and also a certain wink to the 1930s. Kudos to all the people behind this effort. Success from beginning to end.
I want new things new thing for wardrobe which I know is ludicrous because it is busting in the seams. A Swedish company MQ is a chain store and but also has an online shop. They have their own brands like Bläck and Emilio and also brands from other manufacturers like Fred Perry and Dobber.
London based designer Mary Katrantzou is someone to keep a keen eye on. The clothes for fall 2012 have a dreamy quality. They are floral and romantic but still have a futuristic feel to them. I like the combo and think that she is nothing short of brilliant.
Christopher Bailey continues to go from strength to strength as a designer for Burberry. The collection for fall 2012 has me drooling over the keyboard. I mean, come on, look at it. They are must haves from beginning to end. The cut and the colours are superb, and I petition Burberry to send me one piece each of the entire collection. A man can dream, can't he?! ;-) My absolute favourite is the ensemble above with the blue velvet jacket and brandy coloured trousers. Want doesn't come close to describe how much I want these!
The Kardashian sisters are flogging their own brand of jeans half naked. A line of dresses, shoes, jewellry and accessories designed by the sisters are to be sold exclusively by Sears. I stand speechless at the interest of these reality-TV-gadgets and wouldn't touch anything that has their name on it, not even with ten foot pole.
The current collection for Fendi is fun and delectable. I love it, love it and love it some more. It feels like the 1960s took parts of the 1970s on a journey and they met science fiction on the way and finally they ended up on Fendi's catwalk. Of course the clothes cost an arm and a leg but in this case it just might be worth it. I feel happy when I see the clothes and that is as good as a grade as it gets. All of you, enjoy!!!
