Diana Vreeland


She was born in 1903 in Paris and died in New York in 1989, Diana Vreeland. Born into a socialite family with an American mother and an English father. The family emigrated to America at the outbreak or World War I and settled in New York. Married to Thomas Reed Vreeland. They had two sons and due the Thomas Vreeland's work lived in England after settling in America again. Diana Vreeland was asked to write a column for Harper's Bazaar's editor in chief, Carmel Snow, who was impressed by her style of clothing. The column was popular and she later became fashion editor before moving on to doing the same for Vogue. She was an impressive figure who carved a long lasting impression on the fashion world. She worked with everyone worth the name and discovered among many others, Lauren Bacall and Edie Sedgwick.
