Richard Avedon (1923 - 2004) was been said to define America's image of style, beauty and culture. He was born in New York by Russian Jewish parents and started out as a photographer in 1942. Avedon was soon scooped up by Alexey Brodovitch who was the art director for Harper's Bazaar at the time. He photographed countless of celebrities through his career and took some pictures that have defined fashion photography and transformed into classics and legends.
