Gucci Menswear Spring 2014



 

 

Yes, Spring is in the air. And the flowers have started to bloom, and they are not only popping out of the ground but also on the Spring collection for men at Gucci. It is daring to say the least and of course better suited on a youth than any other. And since the flowers are Gucci they do not come cheap. It is colourful and fun, absolutely, but for some reason I prefer my flowers to be in the garden.

Tom Ford Spring 2012

Tom Ford seems to go from strength to strength and I would that the upcoming collection feels playful. It is like he has put the 1920s, Studio 54 and the 1980s into the mix, if that now is humanly possible. Well, whatever, it looks good.

Grey Ant Spring Collection 2011

Grey Ant is a New York based clothing label that I came across just because I was intrigued by the name. Isn't it funny how you can find something new and exciting just for the reason of a name. It definitely pays to be curious. Their webpage is under construction at the moment but you can find it here.

As with many other designers and labels this season the 1970s is quite evident as a source of inspiration. I think that the clothes feel fresh and happening. They feel perfect for a warm summer, the kind of summer we all deserve.

I really like the pieces I have seen but with one exception, the black piece below to the right. It looks like it would be more suited for a porno. Well, every designer is allowed one or two creative cerebral haemorrhages now and then I suppose.

Ralph Lauren Purple Label Spring 2011

Here we have some examples of what Ralph Lauren is dishing out in stores this spring when it comes to his Purple Label. Nice, cool, wonderful, beautiful. I could go on and on with the accolades. This is so good!! Couldn't think of a better way to go bancrupt. The whole ensemble in the top picture has my name written all over it.
