A Gold Dress

This is a dress I saw in the town Borås in Sweden. In this town they have created what they call a Texile Fashion Center where you can find companies and for instance the Textile University. One of their students has made this Eye catching piece which makes me think of Alexander McQueen.

Alexander McQueen Accessories

Since I'm a sucker for skulls andf skull prints I like these two accessories from Alexander McQueen. The cuff links are £130 and highly desirable, at least if you ask me. The cane needs to be ordered if i understand it correctly and the price is probably depending on measurements and the like. I don't really need a cane, not yet anyway, but I could still consider getting one.

Alexander McQueen

The house of Alexander McQueen is still vital and strong. Sarah Burton keeps the legacy in full force and you can feel the spirit of McQueen in the creations. A preview of what we can expect later in 2012. Romantic with a touch of 19th century boduoir. Nothing short of spectacular.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012

Alexander McQueen is still going strong after the demise of the genius behind the name. The collection for fall 2012 is a delight. It feels new and exciting. It mixes references of what I feel is 19th century Russia and futurism. The company will be laughing all the way to the bank, as usual.

Shop at Harvey Nichols

It is time to add some new jackets to our wardrobes and one place to do it is online at Harvey Nichols webpage. I like these three. The one above is from Ralph Lauren.

This one is from Paul Smith.

And last but not least, Alexander McQueen.

Beauty

Today I felt an accute need for an injection of beauty as I'm to make a transition from one reality to another. Beauty and the feeling it conjures up is the perfect medication for many of life's evils. It can soothe the most tormented of souls and the most weary of bodies. I suppose that is why we through the history of mankind has made it into something that borders on religion, for what do we worship as much as the the things that are pleasing to the eye?

Alexander McQueen fully understood the concept of beauty, as can be seen from these excerpts from the book that was produced for the exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Savage Beauty

Today I was at The Metropolitan Art Museum in New York. I spent loads of time in my favourite sections with objects from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Lucky for me they also had an exhibition, "Savage Beauty", with clothes designed by Alexander McQueen. It took some time to get there since we had to queue for one and a half hours to see the master pieces. It was definitely worth the wait and yet another confirmation of the late English genius.

I threw myself at the book about the exhibition and they seemed to be going like hot cakes.

In Love

I'm in love ..... with a jacket. I found this gorgeus creation on ebay. A velvet jacket with embroidered lapels from Alexander McQueen (my hero). The colour would suit me to a T and the lining is just beautiful. Can be mine for approximately £1 000. Hmmmm .....

A Tribute to Alexander McQueen on Easter Sunday

It's Easter Sunday and my neck is killing me. Reading Irina's copy of "Devil in Disguise" by Julian Clary that I accidentally (or not so accidentally) forgot in my bag. A perfect read on a sunny and lazy sunday. Today I felt like making a tribute to the late Alexander McQueen. Probably the only designer who never sent a single boring garment down the catwalk. Theatrical, imaginative, over the top but in a good sense and absolutely one of a kind.

The pale alien look from 1997 is spectacular.

From one of the latest collections. Who but Alexander McQueen would think of making an umbrella as a hat and put a smaller one on top to boot.

This nothing short of sheer genius. Shalom Harlow walks out to the middle of the stage, steps on the turning platform and as she turns the two robots spray the white dress with black and yellow making a unique pattern. Hail to the master!!!

I love skull prints on clothes and one made out of flowers is extra special. I need to get a hold of a t-shirt like that.

The catwalk shows of Alexander McQueen were the best in the world.

So where ever you are now Alexander McQueen I hope that you have peace of mind.

Alexander McQueen

It was a huge loss for the fashion world when Alexander McQueen died. He was sheer genius. It is going to be interesting to see what is going to happen with the brand in the future. I sincerely hope that they will manage the legacy and continue to design and make up creations that resembles what Alxander McQueen put on the table. It's not going to be easy. He played in a league all of his own. It's always hard when the person behind the name for some reason leaves the scene so to speak. The public and the media have grown accustomed to a certain way of having things done. Some labels don't survive the transition. I would really like the label Alexander McQueen to keep on going because I think the world would be duller without it.

Alexander McQueen

The label for Alexander McQueen makes some really cool and desirable stuff. How about a tie with skulls on it for £95. Or why not a coin chain wallet for £330. I like it and I very rarely carry coins around. I buy with plastic.

Perhaps a call to my therapist wouldn't be too bad, to get my priorities in perspective ...
