Karl Lagerfeld 2012

Karl Lagerfeld is somewhat of an enigma. Let's face it, he is getting a bit long in the tooth but still seems to have a keen sense of what is youthful and young. The examples above is from the current collection and they feel modern and fashion forward. They also feel a bit military and German but that could just be a prejudistic view on my part.

Manolo Blahnik 2012

When Sex and the City disappeared from our screens Manolo Blahnik lost years of intense media exposure, but there are always reruns. When I lived in Battersea I walked past the Manolo Blahnik shop quite often because I had a friend who lived on Christchurch Street. Blahnik was big before SATC and will continue to be so as the shoes from his spring collection for 2012 clearly shows.

Jeffrey Campbell

Jeffrey Campbell makes some killer shoes. They don't exactly look comfortable but I'm sure they still can be. I have to ask someone. I think his shoes are cool, he has his own style and they are clearly some real show stoppers.

Here are two examples of the Burberry bags for current spring. The one for women above will guarantee a certain amount of attention because of the colours and mix of materials.

The second one, just above, is for men and I suppose it will do nicely to drag home the shopping from Marks & Spencer.

2012

Now we write 2012. A new year with new opportunities and possibilities. And according to the Mayan calender we only have some months left to live. In that case we need to make the most of them I suppose. No matter if this planet is going under in eleven months or in a millenia we need to live in the now.

2011 was an eventful year for me. I saw parts of the world that I hadn't seen before (and thus fulfilled the gypsy's prophesy for me). I got new titles and new work. I got two great ideas that I will develop further in 2012. Dreams and goals should always be pursued.

2011 was also a year of love and friendship. I can carry great memories with me from the past year which hopefully will give me energy in this one. Where there is light there is also darkness and even though I walked out of it stronger doesn't mean that it didn't involve pain and lots of it. My best friend calls him the unmentionable.

This evening I cried. Finally .....

Cried over cowardly acts, words with double meaning, harsh remarks and bitchiness, words that should have been said and words that shouldn't have been said. Cried over that sometimes love isn't enough and over a broken heart that has yet to be fully mended.

But the light and the love in me prevails.

New Year

A few hours are left of 2011, at least from where I'm sitting. We look back at what has happened in 2011 and also take a glance at what might lay in the year ahead.

For me it has been a productive year with many new assignments and new contacts. This year I got to add columnist and editor to my CV, and I suppose fashion blogger is also on the list.

This has also led to personal growth and new insights of who I am. I actually like the person I am, flaws and all even though there is one or two that I would like to rectify. A mission for 2012 I suppose. There must always be growth and progress.

And to all of you, where ever you are in the world, who read this blog - Thank You! I hope it gives you some amusement.
