Calvin Klein Ads

Late in the evening when you perhaps is in a strange mood you can raid the box of chocolate chip cookies or do something else. Calvin Klein advertising for perfume and underwear is really something special. Beautiful, sexy and desirable. Many are the ones who have been panting over these images of specimens of physical perfection. And who can blame them?

Swedish football player, Fredrik Ljungberg, has also graced the billboards in white briefs from Calvin Klein and with good results, don't you think?

Now I'm just hot and bothered and am throwing longing glances at the chocolate chip cookies ..........

LCF - Mariya Kotova

London College of Fashion is presenting work from their graduate students. This dress is made by Mariya Kotova and is called "Russian Spirit". She attends the BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology: Surface Textiles. Colourful, innovative and I love it. It doesn't hurt a bit that my favourite colour is blue.

Anna Cerclay

Christina Kalicharan you might remember from older postings. My friend from London College of Fashion. She has recently started her own company and her own label, Anna Cerclay. If I have understood it correctly she will concentrate on accessories but I also saw a lovely sweater that she had made. She gets cashmere sweaters and makes bags like the ones you see on the picture out of the material. I think they call it reupcycle, that you recycle something and make it into a new desirable thing. I think the concept is brilliant considering the enviroment and the amounts that we produce and consume. I love Christina's stuff and I'm sure she will do well in the future and that we will see her items in Selfridges. You read it here first.

Overall

Fashion against AIDS that is underway at H&M at the moment is wonderful. It is great with companies that want to contribute and give something back to society. It doesn't hurt their brands either. So I say go for it and a big cudos to H&M.

When I went into their webpage I was reminded by a what I consider to be a fashion faux pas at the moment, the overall. Apparently it's considered to be trendy and the new thing, and I am dumbfounded. Why put grownups in something that should be shunned from your wardrobes after the age of two?

I would like to line up the designers and trend analysts that thrust this thing into our existence, make them bend over and spank them.

Dress Sense

As I said in my last posting I did a spot of clubbing saturday night. I don't have the need to get intoxicated as perhaps I did in my twenties which gives me the opportunity to look around more. I love watching people, how they act and what they wear. When you are sober that is easier to do. While chatting with my friends and some other people my eyes were constantly scanning the room. There were quite a lot of fodder to scrutinize. I would think that it amounted to about one percent of the gathered people that I thoght was dressed nicely. The scenario is as follows I believe; they have at one time or another been out shopping and found something that they feel is desireable. On the evening in question like last saturday they have been standing in front of the mirror, put on what they consider to be their best club gear and made themselves as pretty as they possibly could and .....

oh dear ......

Stage Persona

I was at a club last night. They played 70s and 80s music. Nostalgia all the way. There was also a live band. Can't remember the name. Didn't much care. But I thought that the lead singer was cool. Decidedly 70s in trousers with flair, embroidered shirt, a fur waistcoat, a cool cap and some spacy sunglasses. That had me going at least.

Victoria Beckham 2011

When Victoria Beckham started a clothing line I suppose many with me were sceptical, as we tend to be when a celebrity starts with a new line of business. Another example is Stella McCartney. She studied to be a designer but many where the people who said that she had her career just because of her famous father. I suppose it is something in our genetical make-up that kicks in. We seem to get off on putting people on piedestals and then push them off.

Victoria was famous all over the world for being Posh Spice, a part of Spice Girls and a one part of the power couple of the twentyfirst century above all others with hubby David Beckham. I was pleasantly surprised by her clothes. Perhaps not revolutionary but good tailoring and classical sillouettes. I'm sold.

It is going to be fun to see what happens in the future with Victoria Beckham.
