Aussiebum and Summer

Aussiebum does swim- and underwear with a tremendous gay following. As you can see their goods are more favourable on tight packages. With those skimpy briefs and the, should we say thought provoking, images they use it would be anything but surprising if the gay men didn't jump on the band wagon. The company has their advertising on big billboards in for instance West Hollywood. Gee, what a fucking surprise.

On a grey and rainy day like this I miss summer, but at the moment I for some strange reason feel quite hot and bothered ....

What to wear to School??

Tomorrow the pupils of Sweden return to school from their summer holidays. Some are looking forward to it and to see their friends. Others are in a state of fear of what awaits them. Inbetween we have the grey masses who are neither too much nor too little. No matter which group they belong to a lot of time today has been spent on what they are supposed to wear when they yet again enter the walls of education.

School was never my favourite place and when I was a teenager the first day of school was one of the most dreaded days of the year. That was also the time when my interest for fashion started ...

... and I made my clothes into my armour ....

Models to Watch

Harper's Bazaar has listed the top models for 2011 and these two intrigued me the most. Above we have the German Luisa Bianchin and below the the Danish Caroline Brasch Nielsen. They both look a bit quirky and I say that quirkiness should be celebrated more.

The Tantalizing Journeys of Love

Teddy, in the home where he belongs.

Love is different for all. There are as many interpretations of love as there are individuals roaming around on this planet. For some people it is just a word. Some say that they don't know what it is. For some it is the air they breathe.

I suppose nearly all of us has at one time or more met someone who turns out to be the last thing you think of before you are rocked to sleep and the first thing you think of when you wake up.

At one time I met a person who for inexplicable and unfathomable reasons I felt an immediate connection with and I fell like I had never fallen before. About two months later I was standing in a shop in Old Town in Stockholm and looked at a pile of teddy bears. They were all dressed in white sweaters with the word love in red embroidered on them. I thought about him, and that I would like to give him one of those teddy bears. I picked one and at the cashier there was one person ahead of me. As I waited I read the card hanging around its neck. Except the regular information it said that every teddy had a unique name and the one I had picked was called "Patrick, in love". I was stunned. The teddy had my name and it said in love. My whole body shuddered like I had been struck with a bolt of lightning. What were the odds that when I thought about him I would pick a teddy with my exact name and the words, in love?

He didn't get the teddy then. Years later teddy travelled in a box to where he belonged.

Love takes you on strange journeys sometimes and the ultimate question is always if you are ready to go along for the ride.

Basso & Brooke

Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke together run the label Basso & Brooke which has won lots of awards and accolades by the fashion industry. They were the first UK designers to have their clothes worn by Michelle Obama, the first lady of the USA. They are also pioneers when it comes to digital printing and in 2004 they won the Fashion Fringe Award for their 100 % digitally printed collection. Fashion

With the fall collection for 2011 they are still going strong with vibrant colours and vivid prints that will brighten the dreariest of autumns days. I'm looking forward to seeing these happiness forthbringing clothes on women across the world.
