Dress to Impress
We dress to impress. A certain style is applied for work and another for let's say formal occasions. Then there are those moments when we don't, for all the money in the world, want to fuck up. Weddings, formal state dinners and those quite scary first dates. What are you supposed to wear when you go to the movies or to a dinner with the one who, if the Gods smile at you, could be your future life partner.
You don't want to look too sloppy on the one hand but on the other hand you don't want to be overdressed. With all those things considered you still want to impress. You want that other person to like you, be attracted to you and preferably fall head over heels for you. In that moment you need all the help you can get and if you wear clothes that you like you are going to be more comfortable and feel more confident.
Another problem in that situation and in others is do we display who we really are or the ones we wish we were? A bit of false advertising probably slips in with the best of us but you can't build a friendship or a love relationship with imaginative pretenses. Clothes at a first date should just sugar coat an already nice package. In the end you have to be comfortable with who you are and if you're not there are no clothes in the world that can save you.
When I dress I always think about what I'm going to do, where I'm going and who I'm going to meet. My grandmother molded a manipulator already in the crib.
