When I moved to London in the beginning of the 1990s there was also the start of the era of the supermodel. They were everywhere. On catwalks, billboards and magazine covers. We didn't seem to able to get enough of them. It was a new phenomenom and we licked it up like a starving cat would have a bowl of cream. The supermopdels were paid enormous sums of money. All the more power to them of course.
My favourite was Linda Evangelista who shot to major stardom when she cut her brown hair short. Then she became a blonde and then a redhead. She was a step ahead of the rest. Let's face it, they could have draped her in calico, sent her out on the catwalk and she still would have made it work.
She was and still is a true chameleon. You just got to love that!
