Sylvester Stallone

Yesterday I read in a magazine that Sylvester Stallone will launch a clothing line in the near future. If it's in the same quality as the majority of his films then heaven help us.

Hair

When I was a teenager I really didn't like my own hair colour, and it went on into my late twenties. I bleached it, coloured it and highlighted it. My hair went through an enormous amounts of shades and finally I couldn't remember what my hair colour was. I let it grow out. It felt exotic for a while but at that time I lived by the faith that blondes have more fun.

As I got older I got used to my own hair colour and I'm comfortable in it. That being said I'm a bit bored with it at the moment. I get bored easily, unfortunately I want changes in many ways but an easy thing to change is hair colour. I'm thinking about going darker but we'll see.

Perhaps I should do what I did two years ago. Let it all go as you can see on the picture. It was a friday and Anna was going to sleep over. I drove her to the party that she was going to, came home, stood in front of the bathroom mirror and cut it all off. Anna was a bit shocked with my apperance when I picked her up in the middle of the night.

Primark Again

I had to go back to Primark. When I bought the jeans I saw a sweatshirt I liked and I felt that I had to have it. As I was getting I also picked up two pair of sunglasses. They were one pound each. I couldn't pass that one up.

Primark was started in Ireland in 1969 but in the beginning they were called Penneys Stores. The idea was to give the customers fashion for less money. They grew in size quickly and they entered the UK market in 1973 and by 1983 the number of shops in the UK had reached 22. In 1995 Primark acquired the BHS chain in the UK and when C&A left the UK market Primark bought 11 of their shops. In the twentyfirst century Primark entered new markets in Belgium, Spain and Portugal to mention a few. In 2007 a 70 000 square feet large shop was opened on Oxford Street in London.

The company my mother used to work for made a lot of swearshirts with Mickey Mouse prints and I had a lot of them. When I saw the sweatshirt above at Primark I felt compelled to make a nostalgic tribute.

And two pair of sunglasses for two quid. Since my aunt sat down on one of my Calvin Klein sunglasses and squashed them I buy them cheap and in bulk.

Primark, a new love story for me ...

London

London. It's dirty, it's noisy and it's packed as a sardine can but I love it. Where ever you go you feel a whiff of history in the air and know that the cobble stones have been trodden on by millions and millions of people through its glorious past. Even so it's a young city, vibrant with energy and promises of fulfilled dreams. That mix makes London that fascinating place that it is and a city I still, in spite of everything, call my home. This morning it dawned on me that London has been ruled by my ancestors. I haven't thought about it in that way before. They have just been a Willam here and a Henry there. In that sense of the word London is ... mine.

French Accent

The last days have been glorious. Folkestone and London have shown themselves from their best sides. So much nice food that I seriously am thinking of stapling my mouth together for the next few weeks. Not to mention the desserts. Icecream from Waitrose (yum!), homemade chocolate cake and homemade pavlova. The pavlova was the absolute best.

The weather has been great and yesterday we sat out on the terrace until ten thirty in the evening. A lovely meal with a bunch of inspiring French and English and Israeli people (and one Swede). So now I am thinking in English with a French accent.

Ohlala ....

Laughter and love are two of the best remedies in the world.
A thank you to my loyal readers from Folkestone and London.

The LCF-Mafia

Today we had a bit of a reunion, me, Christina and Irina. The LCF-Mafia as we can call us. LCF stands for London College of Fashion. It was years ago we attended that college and look at us now. The three of us have our own companies and are at different stages of entrenpneurship. Not bad if I say so myself. If you have a goal it needs to be pursued and to the best of your abilities conquered.

We had a lovely meal on the terrace this quite warm Good Friday. The salads were the best as ever, Irina. :-)
